WHAT SERVICES DOES NIGHT NANNY NOT PROVIDE?
Night Nanny is a Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist. Unlike a midwife or an OBGYN, a postpartum doula is not a medical professional. As such, Night Nanny will not perform medical treatment or make medical decisions for the client.
What Night Nanny can do is provide education, resources, or referrals to professionals that can assist.
Night Nanny is also not a babysitter. Night Nanny is a service to assist parents and families in the transition and adjustments that come with a newborn baby, the parent or parents are required to be home the entire time Night Nanny is present.
WHAT IS YOUR RANGE FOR PROVIDING SERVICE?
We have two different zones for our services. The Local Zone consists of a 25-mile radius around our hometown in Peru, IL. This zone is our preferred area, and this is reflected in our pricing.
The other zone is the Extended Zone. The Extended Zone includes everything outside of the Local Zone up to a maximum radius of 60 miles from Peru, IL. This zone could have travel premiums added into the final cost to help cover the cost of travel.

WHO SHOULD USE NIGHT NANNY?
Not everyone has friends or family that can assist new parents with the transition to parenthood. Night Nanny provides professional support tailored to your family’s specific needs. We can help you through the recovery and big adjustments that come with a newborn. We are non-judgmental and trained to make this process smooth and easy.

HOW LONG DO FAMILIES TYPICALLY USE NIGHT NANNY’S SERVICES?
Night Nanny is perfectly positioned to help new families in the first few days and weeks after bringing home a newborn baby. We can provide support for you, your family, and your newborn for up to 12 weeks. Because everyone’s needs are different, If we have a prior relationship, I may be able to offer extended support to assist with big changes like sleep regression, among others.
ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY INSURANCE?
As of January 1, 2026, all major insurance companies in Illinois are required to reimburse for services rendered by a certified doula. This was codified by Public Act 103-0720.
Most insurance providers require doulas to hold the Illinois Medicaid-Certified Doula certificate in order to reimburse for services provided. I do not have this certificate, but I do have plans to earn this certificate as soon as possible.
I can not guarantee that your insurance provider will reimburse you for my services.
I highly recommend reaching out to your provider to see what options are available to you.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept payment in cash, personal check, and most major forms of credit cards through PayPal (with an additional 3.5% transaction fee).
We accept payments weekly or bi-weekly for longer contracts and require a deposit to reserve your dates.
We can issue an invoice, if needed.
